Falcon 9: In-Flight Abort Test
January 19, 2020: A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launches from LC-39A at Kennedy Space Center at 10:30 A.M. EST, launching a Crew Dragon capsule that intentionally aborted 84 seconds into flight, demonstrating the spacecraft’s ability to separate from Falcon 9 and carry astronauts to safety in the unlikely event of an emergency on ascent. Unfortunately cloud cover prevented a clear view of the abort from my perspective atop the Vehicle Assembly Building.
