Rocket 3.2: Orbital Launch Attempt
December 15, 2020: Astra’s Rocket 3.2 smallsat launch vehicle lifts off from Kodiak Island, Alaska, marking Astra's second launch in a series of three missions focused on iteratively reaching orbit. Rocket 3.2 made it to space, achieving a nominal altitude of 380km, but fell just 0.5km/s short of orbital velocity -- a remarkable achievement for the young spaceflight company!
