December 11, 2022, at 2:38 a.m. — SpaceX's Falcon 9 B1073-5 launches ispace’s HAKUTO-R Mission 1 to a lunar transfer orbit from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. ispace’s lander will aim to become the first privately-led Japanese mission to land on the lunar surface. Also on board was NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s Lunar Flashlight. B1073-5 landed at Landing Zone 2 at Cape Canaveral.
